I’m Mark Mannering Barton. Welcome to my world of pet and animal portraits, where artistry and passion come together to create timeless memories of beloved companions and animals alike.

I began drawing as a child and was fortunate to grow up surrounded by pets and animals. When I eventually attended art college, the two began to merge and for the past 30 years I’ve been honing my technique ever since.

Living locally in Teddington, animals really are a daily part of life. I get the privilege to be close not only to my pets; Leia and Simba but to the deer in the park, the swans by the lock (or the occasional seal) and of course, the very noisy green parakeets!

I understand the profound bond between animals, pets and people and that carries through every stroke of my pencil. From the wag of a tail to the sparkle of eyes, I strive to portray the true character of your furry companion and wildlife that we’ve all loved from near and afar.

My artistic style is not about capturing every single hair, or being absolutely true to colour. Instead, I focus on encapsulating the very essence of your pet, their spirit, and their individuality.
